Initial project goals:

- The basic structure of the web site will follow the organizational charts of each department and will reflect the main activity in each department.

- Information will be presented according to the interests of each identified target audience: patients looking for certain procedures or services, physicians with interests similar to those of the group, potential/current staff, potential/current fellows and medical students.

- Specialty pages will also be focused on some of the daily informative needs of each doctor and will be presented in a customized format containing specialty articles, links to Internet resources and other often-required professional resources. Doctors will be encouraged to provide content for these specialty pages on an ongoing basis.

- News will be specific to each department homepage and will also be presented on the general home page in the form of a selection of most recent department headlines.

- Doctor/staff search features will provide publicly accessible contact, specialty and other information.

- A general search engine will provide results based on indexing  main content pages only.
